Solution to Medium chess puzzle 0008

At this puzzle, next move is by Black. The objective of the puzzle is to avoid losing the queen. Here your queen at e7 is supported by your king. If your king gives up the support, your queen becomes unsupported. So the opponent will try to deflect your king. They could do this by sacrificing their bishop. If their bishop captures your pawn at g7 and gives a check, your king has to move to g8 or capture the bishop. The king can not move to e8 as that square is targeted by the knight at c7. If your king does any of these moves you will lose your king.

You have three options to save your queen.

1. Block the bishop access to g7. This can be done by moving the pawn in f file to f6.
2. Block opponents queen’s target on your queen. This can be done by moving the pawn in c file to c5.
3. Capture the opponents queen
