Aim of Chess

Chess is a two player strategy board game. Is about planning, attack and defense with the opponent. You have to capture opponent’s King without letting them capturing yours. Your aim is to put the opponent’s king in such a position that it can’t escape from your attack. This is called checkmate and we will discuss about checkmate in detail later.

The game chess is played on a chess board. The pieces represents various strengths, abilities to move and different style of attack and defense.

The game chess could have probable been derived from the Indian game Chathuranga. The pieces represent different branches of armed forces such as chariots, elephants, horses and infantry.
