Explanation for the moves

1. Nxe7+ - Your knight sacrifices itself to give check to opponent’s king and opens the f file for the rook
2. Rxe7 - This is a zugzwang move. Opponent’s rook captures your knight as this is the only legal move available. King can not move due to the attack from your rook and bishop.
3. Qxe7 - Your quen captures opponents hanging rook. Your queen is getting ready to move to g7
4. Rf8 - Opponent’s rook is moving to h8 targeting your rook
5. Qg7# - Your queen moves to g7 and checkmate. Opponent’s king can’t capture your queen since it is supported by bishop. This is called Damiano’s bishop mate.. This is how you can mate in 3 moves.
6. For right move - With the right sacrifice of your knight you had a Damiano’s bishop mate. It was a good strategy
7. For wrong move - You could have moved your queen to e7 to mate in 3 moves. Try again
